Jalad
/ Chapla wedding is performed in Varanasi without
fanfare. Mani and Chando are crestfallen and stay
in Mumbai. Tau also keeps the celebrations in Varanasi
low key much to the chagrin of Leela. Prior to “Bidaai”
Leela gives some ill-meaning advice to Chapla as
to how she should conduct herself in her “Sasural”
– keep Jalad and Mani happy and isolate Chando.
Tau overhears and strongly urges to Chapla to behave
herself. Upon arrival in Mumbai Chapla is irked
by the lukewarm reception at Mani’s household.
Mani cannot hold herself at the “Durga Mata
Temple” rituals and storms out. She tells
Dev Mama “Itne toote huey dilon ke shor ke
beech main ek najayaz shaadi ka jashn nahin mana
sakti”. Dev Mama and Chando follow her to
calm her down.
