An
emotionally shattered Chando reacts and Mani notices
that she is visibly upset. Chando skips dinner.
Kumkum urges Dev Mama in the presence of Dinesh
to propose a Chando – Dinesh alliance to Mani.
Dev Mama meets Mani, who informs him that she and
Kanak had decided to marry Jalad and Chando. Dev
Mama returns and informs Dinesh and Kumkum. Dinesh
is emotionally shocked. Mani calls Dinesh to appropriately
tell Jalad about his childhood betrothal to Chando.
Dinesh does so and Jalad confirms that he will fulfill
his mother’s wish. In the meantime a deeply
disturbed Chando phones Chapla, who advises her
to return to Varanasi.
